Dufferin Concrete placed over 6,000 m3 of mass footings/raft slab concrete to PCL Constructors for the new CAMH Forensic building in Toronto located at 1001 Queen Street West. The mix design used was a 35 MPa air-entrained C-1 exposure class concrete utilizing Ash Grove’s Slag cement with a 50% replacement level to mitigate heat of hydration rise and thermal cracking potential in thick concrete elements while still achieving excellent 28 and 56-day compressive strength results.
